Yes. Regular reviews and guidance sessions are offered to help parents support their child’s progress.

Professional Standards: It shows that I have met the strict education, training, and

practice requirements set by the I.A.C.P.

- Ethical Practice: I follow the I.A.C.P. Code of Ethics and Practice, which places

client safety, confidentiality, and wellbeing at the heart of all work.

- Ongoing Learning: Accreditation requires me to take part in regular professional

development and clinical supervision to ensure best practice.

- Trusted Recognition: The I.A.C.P. is the largest professional body for counselling

and psychotherapy in Ireland, and its accreditation is widely recognised by GPs,

healthcare professionals, and many insurance providers.

Value for Clients and Referrers

I.A.C.P. accreditation is a respected standard in Ireland. It reassures clients—and

referring professionals—that I practice ethically, safely, and with both competence

and accountability.

Health Insurance Benefits

Therapy with an I.A.C.P. accredited counsellor or psychotherapist may be eligible for

partial reimbursement under several Irish health insurance schemes:

- VHI, Laya, and Irish Life Health typically provide cover for a number of sessions

annually when the therapist holds I.A.C.P. accreditation, though exact benefits depend

on individual plans.

- It’s recommended that clients check their specific plan & “Table of Benefits” or

contact their insurer directly to confirm coverage
